Srinagar, May 30 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to file a review petition before the Supreme Court regarding the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) issue concerning teachers in the Union Territory, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said on Saturday

In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, Itoo said the Government has consistently acted responsibly and proactively on the matter and has taken up the issue at various levels while ensuring concrete follow-up action.

She said the Government has already accorded sanction for filing a review petition before the Supreme Court and that the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, through a communication dated May 26, 2026, has directed its Standing Counsel to initiate the necessary legal proceedings.

“The review petition has been prepared and will be filed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the coming week,” Itoo said.

The Minister reiterated that the Government remains fully committed to safeguarding the interests of teachers and has taken all necessary steps to address their concerns regarding the TET issue.

She added that the Government has acted in the past as well to protect the interests of teachers and will continue to pursue all available legal avenues in the matter. (JKNS)
