Srinagar, May 25 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday praised the disaster response teams, Army, police and civil administration for safely rescuing around 300 tourists stranded mid-air after a technical malfunction in the Gulmarg Gondola cable car system.

In a post on X, Manoj Sinha, as per news agency JKNS, said the nation stands united in applauding the extraordinary bravery and professionalism displayed by the rescue teams during the six-hour-long operation.

He said teams of Army, J&K Police, SDRF, NDRF, district administration and senior police officers responded promptly and successfully rescued all passengers stranded in 65 cable cars.

“All tourists are safe,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that he personally spoke with senior officials and directed them to ensure every necessary support to the rescued tourists.

“The nation salutes the disaster response forces, Army, JKP and district administration for their valor and remarkable skill,” he added. (JKNS)
