The announcement brought a wave of happiness among the villagers, who termed the project a historic milestone for the area. According to locals, this is the first time since independence that the border village of Kadhama is being connected through a proper road network.

For years, the residents had been deprived of basic road connectivity and were forced to travel through difficult mountainous terrain, causing severe hardships, especially during medical emergencies, students’ daily commute, and transportation of essential goods.

Locals said that due to harsh weather conditions and inaccessible routes, the village often remained cut off from other areas. However, they expressed hope that the completion of this road project would not only ease transportation but also open new avenues of development for the region.

During the foundation-laying ceremony, people thanked the government and concerned authorities and urged that the project be completed within the stipulated timeframe so that the public can finally get relief from long-standing difficulties.

Prominent residents and youth of the area described the project as a positive step toward the development of border areas, adding that improved road connectivity would significantly enhance access to education, healthcare, and other essential services. (JKNS)
