Nearly 40 artisans representing various traditional Kashmiri crafts and art forms participated in the programme. The initiative provided an effective platform for interaction and collaboration among artisans, designers, academicians, students, experts, and institutional representatives.

During the three-day programme, several interactive sessions, workshops, presentations, live demonstrations, and discussions were held focusing on innovation in design, branding, storytelling, product styling, digital promotion, market awareness, sustainability, and the evolving role of Kashmiri handicrafts in global markets.

The programme also featured expert lectures, interactions with students, a round table discussion titled “NIFT Talk Round Table,” and an exhibition at the NIFT Art Gallery showcasing innovative craft techniques and artistic creations.

During the valedictory ceremony, participating artisans were awarded certificates in recognition of their participation and contributions. The event reflected a shared commitment towards collaboration, cultural continuity, and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods through handicrafts.

Speaking on the occasion, faculty members and experts emphasized the importance of continuous engagement and collaboration between institutions and the artisan community to ensure that traditional Kashmiri crafts remain relevant, economically sustainable, and globally visible in accordance with contemporary demands.

NIFT Srinagar CIC IIDL, Mr. Arshid Mushtaq, presented the formal vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all artisans, guests, experts, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders who contributed to the success of the programme.

“Fasana-e-Naqsh” concluded with a renewed commitment to preserving the cultural spirit of Kashmiri handicrafts while exploring innovation, collaboration, and new opportunities in future markets.

Continuing its efforts to promote artisans and Kashmiri crafts, NIFT Srinagar will soon organize a special bazaar under its Cluster and Artisan Promotion Programme in Srinagar, where handicrafts, innovation, creative exhibitions, and visual presentations will highlight the institute’s expertise and the rich artistic heritage of Kashmir.
