Officials said the exercise aims to familiarize citizens with emergency response protocols during crisis situations and to assess the preparedness of both the public and the administration.

The public has been advised to switch off all lights and sources of illumination immediately after the siren at 8:00 PM, draw curtains to prevent light leakage, and ensure that elderly persons, children, and those with health concerns are prepared to avoid panic.

Authorities clarified that this is only a mock drill and there is no cause for alarm. Emergency services and critical care facilities will remain functional during the exercise.

The administration has urged residents to cooperate fully to ensure the smooth conduct of the drill and to contribute towards building a resilient and alert society. (JKNS)
