Nasha Mukt Drive Intensifies: Tral Police Nab Drug Peddler, Recover Charas Haul

Awantipora, Apr 19 (JKNS): Offensive drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Awantipora Police on Sunday apprehended a drug peddler in Tral and recovered a significant quantity of contraband substance from his possession.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS said that, in continuation of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Police party of Police Station Tral apprehended one individual identified as Ashiq Hussain Bhat S/o Gh. Mohammad Bhat, resident of Ratsuna Tral.

During search, 50 grams of charas and 125 grams of charas powder like substance were recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 45/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral, and investigation has been set into motion.

Awantipora Police reiterates its firm commitment towards the eradication of drug menace under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan and warns individuals involved in such illegal activities of strict legal action.

The general public is urged to cooperate and share any credible information regarding drug peddling with the nearest police establishment. (JKNS)
