The padyatra was led by Shri Mohammad Ashrif (JKPS), SDPO Magam, along with SHO Magam. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, teachers, and police personnel.

The primary objective of the padyatra was to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage society, particularly the youth, to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Participants carried banners and placards bearing messages such as “Say No to Drugs, Choose Life” and “Nasha Mukt Bharat,” while marching through key areas of Magam to sensitize the general public.

In addition, a series of village-level Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings continued across the district. These meetings were conducted at Sholipora (Budgam), Yarikhah (Khansahib), Hayatpora (Chadoora), Gagerpora (Narbal), and Islamic Public School Kralpora and Humhama.

During these sessions, officers sensitized participants about the alarming rise in substance abuse, particularly among youth. They highlighted the adverse impact of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society at large, and emphasized the need for a collective, community-driven approach to effectively combat the menace.

Participants were urged to extend full cooperation to Budgam Police in its ongoing efforts to eradicate drug abuse. The youth, in particular, were encouraged to stay away from narcotics and act as ambassadors of positive change within their communities. (JKNS)
