The campaign was launched simultaneously across the Union Territory, utilizing sports and community mobilization to promote a drug-free lifestyle. Thousands of students and citizens participated in awareness rallies, pledges, and padyatras aimed at spreading the message of a healthy and drug-free society.

On the first day, large-scale awareness rallies and padyatras were held across districts. In Samba, over 850 students and 115 employees participated in a rally from Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium. In Kishtwar, a padyatra commenced from Char Chinar Chowgan and culminated at the DC Office. Similar events were held in Doda, Kulgam, Ramban, Kathua, Kupwara, Rajouri, and Poonch, where students and youth actively participated in awareness drives, oath ceremonies, and sports-based activities.

Director General Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta, lauded the efforts of field staff for ensuring the successful rollout of the campaign at the grassroots level. She said their dedication has played a vital role in strengthening the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan and ensuring its reach across schools, playgrounds, and communities. She also emphasized that sports remain the strongest tool to combat drug abuse and build a healthier society.

Meanwhile, DG YSS along with officers of the department, physical education staff, and sportspersons participated in a padyatra flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K at MA Stadium Jammu, which culminated at Parade Ground. — (JKNS)
