An official told news agency JKNS that clearance work is underway, however, continuous shooting stones have hampered restoration efforts.

He said that no vehicular movement shall be allowed from Jammu towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar, and vice versa, until the highway is fully restored.

Authorities have advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly and avoid relying on rumours, urging them to check traffic updates through official Traffic Police social media handles and Traffic Control Units.

Helpline numbers have also been issued for assistance, including TCU Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban. (JKNS)
