Bandipora, Apr 3 (JKNS): Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, Bandipora Police achieved a significant success during naka checking at Sumlar.

During the naka, a suspicious person coming from Surinder towards Sumlar attempted to flee from the spot. Acting swiftly, the alert police party apprehended the individual tactfully.

 

Upon his personal search, approximately 1.5 kilograms of charas (powder-like substance) was recovered from his possession.

 

The accused has been identified as Makhan Din Poswal S/o Jamal Din Poswal R/o Sirender, Bandipora.

 

In this regard, a case FIR No. 34/2026 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bandipora (Police Post Sumlar) and further investigation has been taken up.

 

Bandipora Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug peddling in their areas. (JKNS)
