Competing in a fiercely contested field, Jivisha Agarwal, daughter of serving officer Colonel Ashish Agarwal, delivered an outstanding performance to win the Gold Medal and secure 1st position in the Elimination Event of the Indian Round Girls Under-13 category, displaying exceptional composure and skill on the national stage.

In the individual ranking competition, where four archers from Maharashtra featured among the top ten, reflecting the intensity of the contest, Jivisha narrowly missed yet another podium finish by a single point.

Alongside her, Nidhi Mahto also turned in a commendable performance, securing 9th position in the overall national ranking, as both young archers competed with determination and distinction for national honours.

This achievement reflects the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to nation building through youth development, mentorship and the creation of a strong sporting ecosystem.

The success of these young archers stands as a testament to the focused training, encouragement and institutional support provided at MIC&S, Ahilyanagar, where talent is identified early, nurtured with care and prepared to excel at the highest levels.

Special recognition is due to Coach Havildar Rakesh Ninama, whose dedicated guidance and mentorship helped the two girls from MIC&S secure a gold medal finish and places among the top national rankings.

Their accomplishment is yet another example of how the Indian Army, beyond its primary role of national security, continues to foster character, confidence and excellence among the youth, making a meaningful contribution to the larger cause of nation building. (JKNS)
