Drug Money Crackdown: Shopian Police Attach ₹18.88 Lakh House Linked to Narcotics Trade

Shopian, Mar 28 (JKNS): Intensifying its crackdown on drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian have attached a residential property allegedly acquired through proceeds of narcotics trade, marking a significant action against illicit networks in the district.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS said that, as part of its ongoing drive against narcotics related activities, Shopian Police have attached a single-storey residential house valued at ₹18,88,000/- under Khasra No. 126, belonging to Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday a resident of Barbugh Imamsahib.

The property was identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal sale of drugs and narcotics. Accordingly, the property was attached in connection with case FIR No. 02/2026 of Police Station Imamsahib.

 

The attachment process was carried out in the presence of a duly constituted police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar ensuring full compliance with all legal procedures and protocols.

Shopian Police reiterates its firm commitment to combating narcotics-related offences and urges the public to come forward with any information regarding drug trafficking or related activities, police said. (JKNS)
