Awantipora, Mar 25 (JKNS): Awantipora police on Wednesday arrested three gamblers in Tral.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, Acting tough against the social crimes, Awantipora police have arrested three gamblers in Tral.

Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Tral, a police party of Police Station Tral headed by SHO PS Tral Inspector Tajamul Islam raided the specific spot and arrested the three gamblers.

They have been identified as, Jalal-ud-Din Sheikh S/o Ab Ahad R/o Nowdal Tral, Mohd Yousuf Shah S/o Mohd Akram Shah R/o Takiya Gulab Bagh and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mohand S/o Mohd Akram Mohand R/o Shair Abad Tral

Officers have seized stake money of ₹11,450/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 31/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Tral further investigation has been initiated.

Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law.General public is requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units. (JKNS)
