On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr(JKNS) the Indian Army undertook a heartfelt humanitarian initiative in Keran sector, extending essential ration support to nearly 120 families across four Panchayat Halqas and 25 villages. The outreach specifically focused on widows, orphans, elderly citizens, and economically underprivileged households, ensuring that the spirit of Eid reached those who needed it most.
The initiative was warmly received by the local community, with families expressing deep gratitude for the timely assistance. The distribution of ration kits not only provided material relief but also brought smiles and hope, enabling families to celebrate Eid with dignity and happiness. The gesture reflected the true essence of Eid—promoting values of Zakat, Khairaat, compassion, and sharing with those in need. In return, the Indian Army has sought commitment from the localls to ensure clean and green Keran through sustainable living, sanitation, renewable energy and environmental protection.
Army personnel actively interacted with villagers during the event, joining them in festive celebrations and fostering a sense of togetherness. This meaningful engagement strengthened the bond of trust and goodwill between the Indian Army and the local population, reinforcing a shared commitment to peace, harmony, and mutual support.
Such initiatives highlight the Indian Army’s continued dedication beyond security duties, playing a vital role in community welfare and social upliftment. The celebration in Keran stood as a powerful reminder that festivals are not just about celebration, but about unity, kindness, and collective happiness.
The event concluded on a note of joy and solidarity, as people and soldiers came together to celebrate Eid as one community.(JKNS)
