In her message as per news agency JKNS, Mufti wished peace, prosperity, and happiness to the community, describing Navreh as a symbol of renewal, hope, and spiritual awakening deeply rooted in Kashmir’s rich cultural traditions.

She also extended her sincere greetings to all those celebrating Navratri across the country, expressing hope that the festival brings strength, positivity, and spiritual fulfillment to every household.

She recalled the centuries-old bonds between Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims, highlighting how both communities have historically shared and celebrated each other’s festivals. She noted that such traditions of mutual respect and participation reflect the true essence of Kashmir’s composite culture and the enduring spirit of Kashmiriyat.

Ms. Mufti emphasized that these shared customs, from exchanging festive greetings to supporting religious observances, stand as powerful reminders of the Valley’s inclusive social fabric. She cited examples of solidarity, including local support during festivals and gatherings at revered sites like the Kheer Bhawani Temple, as reflections of this deep-rooted harmony.

Acknowledging the painful history of displacement faced by the Kashmiri Pandit community, she expressed deep empathy for their suffering and sense of loss. She stated that Kashmir remains incomplete without its Pandit community, whose absence has left a significant void in the region’s cultural and social life.

Reaffirming that Kashmir has always been their home, Ms. Mufti urged Kashmiri Pandits to return with dignity and confidence. She also called upon the governments at the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir to take concrete steps towards ensuring a safe, secure, and inclusive environment that facilitates their return and rehabilitation.

She expressed hope that the spirit of Navreh and Navratri would inspire renewed efforts towards reconciliation, healing, and the restoration of Kashmir’s shared heritage. (JKNS)
