Traffic Restored on Bandipora–Gurez Road; Movement Allowed in Phases

Bandipora, Mar 14 (JKNS): Traffic movement on the Bandipora-Gurez road has been restored with authorities allowing vehicles to ply from both sides under a regulated timing schedule, officials said on Saturday.

In an traffic advisory, as per news agency JKNS, vehicles from Traffic Control Post (TCP) Kanzalwan will be allowed to move from 9:30 AM with a cut-off time of 11:00 AM. Meanwhile, traffic from TCP Tragbal will be permitted from 2:00 PM with a cut-off time of 3:00 PM.

Officials said that no heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be allowed on the route and all vehicles must carry anti-skid chains to ensure safe movement on the snow-bound road.

They added that traffic from TCP Tragbal will only be allowed after all vehicles travelling from Gurez reach TCP Tragbal.

Authorities have advised passengers and drivers to confirm the road status before starting their journey by contacting the District Control Room Bandipora or PCR Bandipora. Commuters have also been urged to cooperate with the administration in the interest of public safety and smooth traffic movement. (JKNS)
