Vinai Kumar Saxena Appointed New Ladakh LG as President Orders Reshuffle

New Delhi, Mar 5 (JKNS): The President of India on Thursday accepted the resignation of Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose as the Governor of West Bengal and announced a series of fresh appointments and transfers of Governors and Lieutenant Governors across several states and Union Territories.

According to an official communiqué issued from Rashtrapati Bhavan as per news agency JKNS, Shiv Pratap Shukla, currently Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, while Jishnu Dev Varma, presently serving as Governor of Telangana, has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.

The statement further said that Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland, while Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.

It also stated that R.N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal. Meanwhile, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Kerala, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

In another key change, Kavinder Gupta, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, currently Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, while Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The communiqué added that all the appointments will take effect from the dates the respective appointees assume charge of their respective offices. (JKNS)
