Senior officials within the security grid told news agency JKNS that the decision has been taken to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents in view of the prevailing situation.

“It has been decided to continue restrictions on Thursday as a precautionary step to ensure a peaceful atmosphere,” a senior official said, adding that the overall situation has largely remained peaceful.

A senior official further said that internet services will continue to remain restricted to 2G speed, while outgoing call services on prepaid mobile connections will remain suspended.

The situation is being closely monitored and further decisions will be taken based on ground assessment, officials in security grid added. (JKNS)
