Sopore Police Apprehend Drug Peddler; Psychotropic Substance Recovered

Sopore, Feb 23 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained action against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking under the jurisdiction of Police Post Fruit Mandi and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.

In a statement police spokesperson as per news agency JKNS said, During naka checking, a suspicious individual coming from Chinar Crossing towards Fruit Mandi was intercepted and apprehended. Upon personal search, Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules were recovered and seized as per due procedure.

The accused has been identified as Mansoor Ahmad Bhat, S/O Late Abdul Ahad Bhat, R/O Khawaja Gilgit Batpora, Sopore.

Accordingly, FIR No. 37/2026 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.

Sopore Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reaffirm their commitment to sustained enforcement to protect youth and society from the menace of drugs. (JKNS)
