Baramulla Police Seizes Illegal Timber in Goigam Kunzer; Accused Booked

Baramulla, Feb 16 (JKNS): Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding illegal smuggling of forest timber in the Goigam area.

As per news agency JKNS, Acting swiftly on the input, a police team was deputed to the spot for verification and search.

During the search operation, illegal forest timber was seized with the following details, 38 window frames measuring 4 × 1½ feet. 03 planks measuring 5 × 5 inches. 04 planks measuring 1½ × 5 inches.

The seized timber was recovered on the spot from the possession of Khurshheed Ahmad Khan, S/o Ab. Ghani Khan, R/o Goigam.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 13/2026 U/S 303(2) BNS & 26 I.F. Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and further investigation is underway.

Baramulla Police remains committed to taking strict action against illegal timber smuggling and ensuring the protection of forest resources in the district. (JKNS)
