Crackdown on Illegal Mining: Two Unauthorized Sand Dumping Sites Sealed in Baramulla Old Town

Baramulla, Feb 9 (JKNS): As part of its sustained efforts against illegal mining activities, Baramulla Police in coordination with the Geology and Mining Department on Sunday seized two unauthorized sand dumping sites in the Old Town area.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, In a continued drive against illegal mining and unauthorized extraction of minerals, a joint team of Police Post Old Town and the Geology & Mining Department Baramulla seized two illegal sand dumping sites in the Old Town area.

During the operation, approximately 223 Metric Tonnes (MTS) of illegally dumped sand were recovered from the sites.

Necessary legal action has been initiated under relevant provisions of the MMRD Act.

Baramulla Police remains committed to taking strict action against illegal mining activities in the district. (JKNS)
