Baramulla, Feb 8 (JKNS): In a proactive move against drug trafficking, Baramulla Police apprehended two individuals and recovered a brown sugar–like substance during a naka checking operation in Tangmarg.

Spokesperson in a statement as per news agency JKNS, In its continued efforts to curb drug trafficking and eliminate the menace of narcotics from society, Baramulla Police apprehended two persons and recovered a brown sugar–like substance during naka checking.

 

A naka was established by Police Station Tangmarg. During checking, two individuals attempted to flee upon noticing the police party but were apprehended tactfully, it reads.

 

They were identified as, Owais Ahmad Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat R/o Treran and Shoib Ahmad Khoker S/o Ashraf Khoker R/o Check Treran, it reads.

 

During their personal search, a brown sugar–like substance weighing 08 grams was recovered.Accordingly, FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg, and further investigation is underway.

 

Baramulla Police remains committed to taking strict action against drug peddlers and urges the public to cooperate in making society drug-free. (JKNS)
