Addressing workers and party supporters, Ashok Koul said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released ₹1,430 crore for Jammu and Kashmir to compensate for the massive losses caused by the devastating storm in July. He informed that ₹940 crore has already been sanctioned by the UT Government for relief and rehabilitation. Koul said that Jammu & Kashmir suffered widespread destruction due to the storm, while nearly 100 innocent lives were lost in a tragic cloudburst in Kishtwar, calling it one of the most painful natural disasters in recent times. He demanded that the UT administration ensure transparent and timely distribution of relief, stressing that the money must reach the actual victims and not be misused.

While thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for standing firmly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in difficult times, Ashok Koul launched a scathing attack on the recent UT Budget, terming it anti-poor and anti-worker. He said the budget has completely disappointed daily wagers, labourers, and common citizens, and fails to offer any new relief or development-oriented initiatives.

“The budget has nothing new, nothing concrete, nothing hopeful for the people. It ignores the aspirations of daily wagers and does not address unemployment, inflation, or rising hardships, accusing the administration of being completely disconnected from ground realities” Koul said, adding that the BJP will continue to raise the voice of the common man.

“This budget has betrayed daily wagers, labourers, youth, and poor families. There is no relief, no roadmap, and no seriousness. It is an anti-people budget that adds to the suffering instead of reducing it,” Koul said.
