He added that consultations are also in progress for the Jammu and Kashmir budget, which is scheduled to be presented on February 6 or 7. “The Chief Minister is holding meetings with lawyers, traders, and multiple stakeholder groups to understand their concerns and expectations. A revised and people-friendly budget will be placed before the House,” Koul said.

Reacting to incidents of attacks on Kashmiris reported from different parts of the country, Koul termed such acts unfortunate and unacceptable. He said India is one nation and every citizen has the constitutional right to move freely, work, and do business anywhere in the country without fear.

Koul said that the matter has been taken up at various levels and efforts are being made to ensure such incidents are not repeated. “These acts are condemnable and must stop,” he said. (JKNS)
