The Prime Minister said the impact of the initiative was so strong that shops in the village stopped selling tobacco products altogether, while awareness about the harmful effects of drugs spread rapidly among residents.

Highlighting the power of community and family bonds, the Prime Minister said such examples from places like Anantnag show that social unity can overcome even the most difficult challenges.

The Prime Minister’s mention of Sheikhgund village and Mir Jafar’s efforts has drawn attention to grassroots movements in Kashmir aimed at fighting drug abuse through collective responsibility and social awareness. —(JKNS)
