As dawn approached, the shrine transformed into a hub of faith with men, women, and children arriving in large numbers for Mehraj-e-Alam. Lamps glowed softly, incense wafted through the air, and whispered prayers blended into a soul-stirring tapestry of devotion.

Children recited prayers alongside their parents, while elderly worshippers leaned on walking sticks, their murmurs carrying generations of devotion. The corridors echoed with chants and supplications, reflecting the collective reverence of thousands of faithful.

“This day fills my heart with peace. Praying here with my family, I feel the Prophet’s blessings surround us,” said Sana Bano, 62, from Nishat Srinagar.

Another devotee Abdul Rashid from Anantnag added that, “Each year, this day reminds us of unity, devotion, and mercy. The prayers strengthen our faith like nothing else.”

Officials and volunteers ensured smooth crowd management, medical aid, water facilities, and proper lighting, allowing devotees to focus fully on their spiritual journey. Across the Valley, other shrines and households also hosted prayers and night-long gatherings, amplifying the devotion witnessed at Hazratbal.

For thousands of believers, the night of Shab-e-Meraj and the day of Mehraj-e-Alam became a continuous celebration of faith, hope, and divine connection. —(JKNS)
