According to affected consumers as per news agency JKNS, they have been paying their electricity charges at the branch regularly for the past three months. However, despite timely payments, the same unpaid amounts continued to appear on subsequent monthly electricity bills, causing confusion, distress, and mental harassment among the public.

Several consumers have alleged that the branch cashier may have misappropriated the deposited funds, retaining the money for personal use instead of remitting it to the concerned electricity department.

When approached by the media, the Branch Manager of JK Bank Saderkoot Bala reportedly said he was not authorized to make any official statement. Later, the JK Bank Headquarters’ Public Relations Officer (PRO) confirmed that complaints regarding the issue had been received and assured that necessary action would be initiated promptly.

The incident has raised serious questions about transparency and accountability in the electricity bill collection system. Consumers have demanded a time-bound and impartial inquiry, adjustment of their paid amounts, and strict action against those found responsible to restore public trust. (JKNS)
