CBI Traps Two Revenue Officials in ₹15,000 Bribery Case

Anantnag, Jan 16 (JKNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two public servants- one Patwari, Revenue Department, Halqa Soaf Shali, Kokernag, Anantnag and one Chowkidar, Halqa Soaf Shali, Kokernag while accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant.

The CBI registered the instant case on 15.01.2026 against the accused Patwari. It was alleged that the accused public servant demanded bribe of Rs. 30,000 for demarcation of land of the complainant, reads the statement issued by CBI as per news agency JKNS.

The CBI laid a trap on 15.01.2026 and caught the accused Patwari alongwith the middleman Chowkidar, another public servant, red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.15,000 from the complainant. The aforesaid accused persons have been arrested.

Further investigation is under way. (JKNS)
