KU Makes Biometric Attendance Compulsory in Private Affiliated Colleges from 2026-27

Srinagar, Jan 8 (JKNS): The University of Kashmir has made biometric attendance mandatory for all students and staff in its private affiliated colleges from the academic year 2026-27.

According to a circular issued by the Office of the Dean, Assitant registrar College Development Council, University of Kashmir, as per news agency JKNS, all Chairpersons and Principals of private affiliated colleges have been directed to ensure installation of biometric attendance machines in their respective institutions on or before the commencement of the 2026–27 academic session.

The circular states that colleges must also ensure proper upkeep, maintenance and systematic preservation of biometric attendance records for future reference and verification.

The University has directed all affiliated colleges to strictly comply with the instructions without fail, the circular added. (JKNS)
