New Delhi, Jan 7 (JKNS): On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Rashtriya Geet “Vande Mataram”, the Indian Army is organising Military Band performances at prominent public locations across the country from 19 to 26 January 2026.

The initiative aims to honour the historical and emotional significance of the national song while fostering a spirit of patriotism and unity through dignified public performances.

As part of the nationwide programme, band displays will be conducted at various locations across different Commands. In Bihar, performances will be held at Patna and Gaya. Ranchi will host the programme in Jharkhand.

In Uttar Pradesh, the band displays will take place at Lucknow and Prayagraj, while Dehradun will host the event in Uttarakhand.

Further, performances are scheduled at Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Gopalpur in Odisha, Bengaluru in Karnataka, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, and Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra. Hyderabad will host the programme in Telangana, while India Gate will be the venue in New Delhi.

In Himachal Pradesh, the performance will be held at Shimla, while Kargil will host the event in Ladakh. Naihati in West Bengal, the birthplace of Sri Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, will also witness the commemorative band performance. In Rajasthan, the programme will be organised at Jaipur.

A special performance by the Army Symphony Band has been scheduled at India Gate, New Delhi, on 18 January 2026.

Each performance will be of approximately 45 minutes’ duration, scheduled between 2 PM and 5 PM. (JKNS)
