Winter Break Announced for Summer Zone Schools of Jammu Division; Faculty to Resume Duties from January 10

DSEJ Extends Winter Vacations in Summer Zone In View of ‘Extreme Cold Weather Conditions

Srinagar, Dec 13 (JKNS): The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Saturday announced phase-wise winter vacations for government and recognised private schools located in the summer zone areas of Jammu Division.

As per an official order issued by DSEJ as per news agency JKNS, students from pre-primary to Class 5 will observe winter vacations from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026. Students of Classes 6 to 8 will remain on winter break from December 26, 2025, to January 10, 2026, while Classes 9 to 12 will have vacations from December 29, 2025, to January 10, 2026.

The order clarifies that teaching staff shall remain available during the vacation period for any academic or administrative work, if required. It further directs all teachers to report back to their respective institutions on January 10, 2026.

The Directorate has cautioned that any non-compliance or violation of the notified schedule by heads of institutions or teaching staff will attract strict disciplinary action under the relevant rules.

The instructions have been issued with the approval of the competent authority and circulated to all concerned for strict implementation. (JKNS)
