4th National Lok Adalat Held in Anantnag; Over 2,100 Cases Settled

Anantnag, Dec 13 (JKNS): The 4th National Lok Adalat was organised on Saturday at the District Court Anantnag and other subordinate courts of the district under the chairmanship of Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District & Sessions Judge (PDJ), Anantnag.

The Lok Adalat at the district headquarters was inaugurated by the PDJ Anantnag and was attended by judicial officers of District Anantnag, senior advocates of the Bar Association Anantnag, members of LADCS, PLVs, and court staff.

With the concerted efforts of the presiding officers of all courts, and the cooperation extended by learned advocates and officials of various government departments, insurance companies, and banking institutions, a total of 2,615 cases were taken up by 10 benches across the district. Out of these, 2,138 cases were amicably settled during the Lok Adalat.

An amount of ₹15,07,81,065 was awarded as settlement in all cases, including compensation of ₹71.16 lakh in nine MACT cases. (JKNS)
