The Designated Officer Food Safety Kulgam has been asked to deploy staff for daily checks and inspections, while both the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer and District Sheep Husbandry Officer will station a veterinarian each at the facility for pre- and post-slaughter health examination of animals. The Chief Medical Officer will also provide medical teams whenever required for health check-ups of abattoir workers.

The administration has directed all concerned departments to ensure strict adherence to the Prevention of Cruelty (Slaughterhouse) Rules, Solid and Liquid Waste Management Rules, and guidelines issued by FSSAI and AWBI. (JKNS)
