Srinagar, Nov 22 (JKNS): The Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Delhi and expressed deep shock over reports suggesting that individuals linked to the medical profession may be among the accused.

In a statement issued to news agency JKNS, DAJ President Dr. Balvinder Singh, accompanied by senior doctors from Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu, said the entire medical fraternity stands in solidarity with the nation and the families of the victims of the “cowardly and inhuman act.”

“Doctors Association Jammu unequivocally condemns the dastardly terrorist attack in Delhi. Our heartfelt sympathies are with the families of the innocent victims,” the statement said.

Referring to the reported involvement of medical professionals, the association termed it a “shameful departure from the Hippocratic Oath” and a grave insult to the noble values of the profession.

“The medical profession is founded on the principles of saving lives and serving humanity. Any person—despite their educational background—who engages in violence and terror forfeits the moral right to be called a healer,” the association stated.

DAJ urged investigating agencies to conduct a swift, fair and comprehensive probe. “We have full faith in the country’s judicial process and demand the harshest punishment for the perpetrators if the allegations are proven. There can be no tolerance for such anti-national activities,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace and national unity, DAJ appealed to the public and the medical community to remain vigilant and united against forces aimed at destabilising the country. (JKNS)
