Army’s Artificial Limbs Camps Bring Hope to Hundreds of Differently-Abled Persons Across Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 12 (JKNS): As part of Chinar Corps ongoing initiatives in the valley, in collaboration with Jaipur based NGO Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), popularly known as Jaipur Foot, Chinar Corps organised a series of Artificial Limbs Fitment Camps for differently abled persons across the valley at Trehgam, Sharifabad, Anantang, Shopian and Srinagar.

The camp was conducted with the aim of empowering individuals with disabilities, thus enhancing their quality of life.

A specialised team of prosthetics technicians and medical experts from BMVSS assesed the requirements of the amputees and provided them with customised artificial limbs.

During the course of this initiative, 54 beneficiaries received artificial limbs, 1753 differently abled persons benefitted from supportive mobility aids.

Local residents and beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Indian Army and the NGO for organising such a benevolent and impactful outreach program, describing it as a step towards inclusion and empowerment.

This initiative stands as a shining example of synergy between civil society and the Armed Forces, reaffirming the shared resolve to build a compassionate and self reliant Kashmir and is testimonial to the Indian Army’s enduring commitment towards Nation Building. (JKNS)
