Budgam, Nov 12 (JKNS) Budgam Police has issued a strong advisory urging citizens to exercise restraint and responsibility while using social media platforms in the wake of the recent terrorist attack at the Red Fort.

As per news agency JKNS, Advisory follows reports of certain individuals and groups posting or reacting insensitively to the incident, thereby spreading misinformation, hate speech and anti-national content online.

Budgam Police has cautioned all social media users and WhatsApp group administrators against sharing, posting, or forwarding any content that is anti-national, communal, or sectarian in nature. It has been clearly stated that any such activity will attract strict legal action under relevant laws, it reads.

The police have reiterated that social media should be used to promote peace, unity and constructive communication rather than hatred or discord. Citizens have been urged to report any content that could disturb public order or social harmony, statement reads. (JKNS)
