As per the existing criteria, one Anganwadi Centre is sanctioned for every 400–800 population, two for 800–1600, and three for 1600–2400, and so on in multiples of 800.

The Minister, however, clarified that the matter regarding the opening of Anganwadi Centres in left-out and far-flung areas that meet the required parameters will be taken up with the Central Government.

He further said that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the benefits of Poshan 2.0 and related schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries, including those in rural and inaccessible regions. Field functionaries have been instructed to identify and include any left-out vulnerable sections to ensure full coverage. (JKNS)
