The Cycling Federation of India is set to organize a special cycling yatra to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru who sacrificed his life for religious freedom. The event will begin on November 15 from Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi and culminate on November 20 at Gurudwara Guru Ka Mahal near Amritsar.

In a press conference held at the Constitution Club, New Delhi, the Senior Vice President of the Cycling Federation of India announced that the yatra will cover multiple cities and aims to spread awareness about the Guru’s supreme sacrifice for humanity and religious harmony.

Adding to the significance of the event, Kashmiri Pandits will also participate in the cycling yatra as part of the global observances marking the anniversary.

Ravinder Pandita, President of All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), while addressing the media, said, “We owe a great deal to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The celebrations were initiated earlier from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurudwara at Teetwal, near the Line of Control, on September 1.”

He highlighted that the historic Teetwal Gurudwara, which was destroyed during the tribal raids in 1947, was reconstructed and rededicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in 2023. The site also houses the Sharda Temple, both rebuilt on their original pre-partition land at Teetwal — the northernmost tip of India.

To ensure wide participation, AIKS has directed its affiliated units in Ambala, Ludhiana, and Amritsar to welcome the yatra and actively take part in the celebrations.

The upcoming cycling event is expected to attract participants from across India, serving as a symbol of unity, interfaith respect, and remembrance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s timeless message of courage and compassion.
