Srinagar, Oct 12 (JKNS): In a major breakthrough, the Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) has arrested an accused involved in a financial fraud case who had been evading arrest for the past four years.

In a statement Spokesperson as per news agency JKNS said, EOW wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir has successfully executed a long-pending warrant against Khalid Sahani, son of Farooq Sahani, resident of Reshi Mohalla, Khar Doori, Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar.

The warrant was issued by the Hon’ble Court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Vailoo, District Anantnag on 03.12.2021, under Section 512 CrPC, in connection with Case FIR No. 38/2018 under Sections 419 and 420 RPC registered at Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir, statement reads.

The accused individual had been evading arrest for the past four years. Acting on credible inputs, the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) apprehended the accused on October 10, 2025. He was produced before the Hon’ble Court today, whereupon the Court ordered his judicial custody and directed that he be lodged in Central Jail Srinagar, it reads.

With this arrest, a long-pending 512 CrPC warrant has been successfully executed, marking a significant step forward in the pursuit of justice in this case of financial fraud, it reads.

The Crime Branch Kashmir reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that offenders involved in economic offences are brought to justice, no matter how hard they may attempt to evade the law, reads the statement. (JKNS)
