Tangdhar, Sept 30 (JKNS): Security forces apprehended an individual with contraband during routine checking at NC Pass, Tangdhar area of Kupwara District on Tuesday.
An official told news agency JKNS that the individual identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Sattar Joo, resident of Hajinar, Tangdhar was arrested at NC Pass.
Bashir Ahmed was travelling in a vehicle bearing registration number JK 01 T 7627 from Tangdhar towards Srinagar when he was intercepted. Authorities recovered 8–10 grams of hashish from his possession during inspection, the official said.
The accused was handed over to the police, and his statement was recorded in the presence of a police representative at NC Pass. Further legal action has been initiated, the official said. (JKNS)
