NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today encouraged citizens to participate in an ongoing online auction of gifts he has received during his official engagements. The proceeds from the auction, which features a wide array of items showcasing India’s rich culture and creativity, will be dedicated to the Namami Gange initiative—the government’s flagship program for the conservation and rejuvenation of the River Ganga.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi shared the auction details, stating, “The online auction for the various gifts I have received during my different programmes has been underway. The auction includes very interesting works which illustrate the culture and creativity of India. The proceeds from the auction will go towards Namami Gange. Do take part in the auction.”

The seventh edition of the “PM’s Mementoes E-Auction” commenced on September 17, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday, and will run until October 2. The collection, organized by the Ministry of Culture, features over 1,300 items, including traditional artifacts, paintings, sculptures, and sports memorabilia.

Notable items up for bidding include a statue of Goddess Tulja Bhavani, a metallic model of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, and sports memorabilia from Indian Paralympians who participated in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The auction provides a unique opportunity for citizens to own a piece of history while contributing to a noble cause.

Since its inception in 2019, the auction series has successfully raised over Rs. 50 crore for the Namami Gange Project. The initiative is part of a sustained effort by the Prime Minister to dedicate all mementos received to a public cause, reinforcing the commitment to environmental conservation and national development. Citizens can view the items and place their bids on the official website: pmmementos.gov.in. ATP
