“After a few days of activity, users are persuaded to recharge with amounts like ₹1,950, ₹8,000, and ₹24,000, following which they are assigned additional tasks. While some initial payments are made, once larger investments are made, victims are unable to withdraw their earnings,” it reads.

The advisory further states that handlers behind the scam eventually disappear, leaving unsuspecting users with financial losses. Cyber Police has urged victims to lodge complaints on the national cybercrime portal www.cybercrime.gov.in or contact the helpline number 1930.

The department has appealed to people to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with such fraudulent platforms, reiterating the message: “Be Alert, Be Safe.” (JKNS)
