India Issues Travel Advisory as Nepal Situation Hits Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

New Delhi, Sep 10 (JKNS): The Embassy of India in Beijing on Wednesday advised Indian citizens to exercise caution after the prevailing situation in Nepal disrupted the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra arranged by private tour operators.

The embassy as per news agency JKNS said that Indian nationals presently in Tibet Autonomous Region of China must remain vigilant and take necessary health and safety precautions due to the difficult terrain and high altitude. Citizens have also been urged to follow local advisories in addition to guidance issued by the Indian missions in Beijing (@EOIBeijing) and Kathmandu (@IndiaInNepal).

“Given the ongoing situation, pilgrims and travelers are strongly advised to remain careful and stay connected with the Indian embassies for timely support,” the advisory underlined.

For emergency help, the Beijing mission has provided helplines 0086-18514284905 (calls only) and 0086-13520657602 (WhatsApp/calls). Similarly, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu can be reached at +977-9808602881 and +977-9810326134, both WhatsApp enabled.

The statement stressed that the missions remain committed to extending all possible support to Indian citizens affected by the travel disruptions. (JKNS)
