As per news agency JKNS, the delegation comprising former ACP Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmad, Vice Chairman Mohd Ramzan, and other members noted that despite the availability of a laboratory and an X-ray machine, the absence of technicians has rendered these facilities non-functional. They stressed that a Gynaecologist and round-the-clock medical services are urgently needed.

Civil Society members said more than 20 villages, with a population of over one lakh, are dependent on PHC Bomai, but lack of essential facilities continues to affect patient care. They appealed to the Director Health Services Kashmir, DC Baramulla, CMO Baramulla, BMO Sopore, and MLA Rafiabad to intervene at the earliest.

Meanwhile, BMO Sopore told JKNS that the health centre has been facing staff shortage for years. “We have also raised the demand for additional posts. One more doctor will be sent to PHC Bomai very soon,” he assured. (JKNS)
