Ladakh, Sep 9 (JKNS): At least three Army personnel lost their lives on Tuesday after a massive avalanche struck the Siachen glacier in Ladakh.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that a major avalanche hit the siachen glacier this evening.
The soldiers who died in the incident have been identified as Agniveer D Rakesh, Agniveer Neeraj Kumar Choudhary, and Sepoy M Kumar, they said.
Rescue teams were immediately pressed into service following the avalanche. Despite swift response and search efforts, the three soldiers could not be saved, while massive rescue operation continues. (JKNS)
