The directive instructs all Heads of Institutions (HoIs) and School Management Committees to undertake a detailed safety audit of school buildings and forward comprehensive reports to the concerned authorities. Schools must also review their overall preparedness before allowing students back to classrooms.

The order further notes that in cases where the HoI or management committee is fully convinced of the structural safety of the school building, they may submit a written undertaking certifying the premises as safe for students. Such undertakings must be furnished to the respective CEO or ZEO without delay.

Officials warned that any attempt to bypass these mandatory safety protocols will be taken seriously, and non-compliance may invite disciplinary action. (JKNS)
