Srinagar, Sept 8 (JKNS): Indian administrative service (IAS) officer Dr Shah Faesal on Monday expressed anguish over the Hazratbal incident, saying that the desecration of the National Emblem is no small matter and has caused deep hurt across the country.

In a post on X, Faesal, as per news agency JKNS, wrote, “Even those across the country who stand for genuine empowerment of Kashmiris & count themselves among their true well-wishers are deeply hurt by the visuals from Hazratbal. Desecration of the national emblem is no small matter. It’s a matter of national pride.”

He added that the unfortunate reality is that the act of a few individuals has cast a shadow on all. “The tragedy is that the mistake of a few can cast a shadow on all,” Faesal remarked.

The Hazratbal row has triggered a wave of political reactions, with several leaders and institutions condemning the incident while urging restraint and respect for national symbols. (JKNS)
