DSEJ Orders Closure of All Schools in Jammu Division Till Sept 5

Decision taken in view of heavy rains, landslides and waterlogging; online classes to continue

Srinagar, Sep 3 (JKNS): The Directorate of School Education Jammu on Wednesday ordered the closure of all government and private schools across Jammu Division till September 5 in view of the inclement weather conditions.

An official order issued by Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, as per news agency JKNS said the decision follows the weather alert issued by the IMD and has been taken due to incessant rains, landslides, flash floods and severe waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The order stated that the step has been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff across the division. It further directed that online classes shall continue during the closure to maintain the continuity of education.

Officials said the directions have been communicated to all Deputy Commissioners, Chief Education Officers and other concerned authorities for strict compliance. (JKNS)
