Kathua, Aug 25 (JKNS): The District Administration Kathua on Monday issued a flash flood advisory in view of the recent heavy rainfall and communication received from the Executive Engineer RSD HQ-cum-Emergency Planning Manager, Chief Engineer Dams, warning of possible regulated discharge of water from the dam at any time, which could lead to a sudden rise in water levels in downstream areas of River Ravi and its tributaries.

According to the advisory, as per news agency JKNS, residents living in low-lying areas along the River Ravi, Ujh Nallah, and adjoining tributaries have been asked to remain alert and avoid venturing close to riverbanks. People have also been advised to refrain from bathing, fishing, or carrying out any activity in or around rivers and nallahs during this period.
