Srinagar, Aug 23 (JKNS): Begum Tajun Nisa, the matriarch of the Samoon family and mother of former Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Asghar Samoon, has passed away on Friday evening.
She was the wife of the late Molvi Muhammad Anwar Samoon.
Begum Tajun Nisa, who was known for her dignified and pious life, breathed her last at her Srinagar residence on Friday evening at 8:20 PM.
She is also the mother of Baqar Hassan Samoon (IPS) and Safdar Hamid Hassan Samoon (SSP).
The funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janazah) were offered around 11:30 PM last night at Highland Enclave, Gogo, Budgam.
The family has requested prayers for the departed soul and has expressed gratitude for the support received.
The family prays that Allah (SWT) grants the departed soul eternal peace and elevates her to the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous, while also granting patience and strength to the grieving family. (JKNS)
